5/5/25

 Nearly 30.

I missed 2024, I guess life had become so slow that I didn't see reason to write.
To gloss over 2024 I had gotten my first full time position at an online events company I was originally working Casually for.
The job has had its ups and downs, learning the program has been a challenge as it is vastly expansive and so much can go wrong with it.
The people have been a pleasure to work with and has been a nice easy environment however the downsides were the roster, for 4 - 5 month blocks of day and afternoon shift with 1 month of night shift.

Downsides to day shifts was that Government departments such as main roads, post office (at least my one) and banks are closed on weekends meaning I need to take a day off to do any errands of that sort but the upside is that I can make my Tuesday shoots, Thursday Trivia and Friday Movies. Though the downsides to dayshift is the upside to afternoon shifts.
Night shift? No upsides at all, you're asleep for the day anyway.

The year in retrospective:

The first notable event was watching the Final Cut of Blade Runner with a Live Orchestra. As a fan of the soundtrack it was so so damn worth it.

Skipping to April I thought I'd try my hand at a live show of a Youtuber, in this case Friendlyjordies. Definitely would go back and funnily enough I did, the vibe is very heckle heavy.

May had 2 things, the first was a marathon of the first 6 Star Wars films in the Cinema marathon. In hindsight I regret going to the venue in question as other venues had better seats but it was still surreal watching it on the big screen. As I had seen the movies a great many times I figured I'd use the opportunity to look at the background elements and there were many in the prequels.

The next thing was a hang out with strangers who all play Star Citizen, the event is dubbed "Bar Citizen" and it was great sharing stories and tales about our experiences in the game so far. It was the first one I had been to in 11 years as well scarily enough and this time I wasn't the youngest one there.

Moving to July was a uniquely themed Witches and Wizards party though a me and a mate had a twist to the idea by coming as a Witches Cone (Traffic Cone) and I came as a Sandwhich.

The week after was an Engagement party with the Poker crew by which we had grown closer to having a meet up every month, I overestimated how close they saw me as and it's touching to say the least. Not quite sure how to explain the sentiment.

The final week of July was the first Dungeons and Dragons session with the main crew. It is an interesting dynamic we had for the sessions, definitely a lot of fun.

Skipping all the way to October was my trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
Safe to say it's not something I'll do again but it had its ups and downs.
Starting with the downs was having to lug a suitcase with me everywhere and arriving in Singapore involved a lengthy process filling out all the entry forms on my phone.

Looking my hotels incorrectly which was annoying as I booked a day ahead of when I was arriving meaning I had to scramble to find one last minute in Malaysia.

Will post the rest at a later time.
