I think I'm beggining to get a grip on things.

After last weeks episode I think I'm nice and calm now. One thing I thought I'd look into though and that was that sinking feeling in the heart. It's something that really facinates me because when we get that feeling, the body is getting ready to run or fight. It's a small amount of adrenaline to give us a head start. However in humans it's a bit more complicated and that's the part that gets me (I read through about 6 different articles and a forum answer had the best summary). When we get it it gets us to run or fight mentally and verbally whether that be to struggle to find words or fabricate a lie to get out of the situation. I've done both and personally you look like an idiot when you struggle to find words but lying isn't the ideal solution either. That's when the fight instinct comes in which if done wrong will cause obvious conflict. What triggers the sinking feeling? Usually negative feelings (anxiety, sadness etc) but there are special situations that a person may feel it, like seeing an accident on the news, a dying relative and perhaps verbal conflict. For me it's seeing your friends get into relationships but not out of jealousy but out of fear that I'll be ignored or treated like second class... or when I'm in deep shit.

But that's my $0.02 on the matter. Might have more tomorrow.
